Welcome to the Rojales Area Guide. Rojales lies just in land from Guardamar del Segura, and lies on the same river. With a long and proud history the town of Rojales has grown and developed over the centuries to meet the needs of it´s inhabitants, which is currently 16,000 all year round. Located near to Guardamar del Segura, Ciudad Quesada and San Fulgencio the town has proven to be popular with the international community. The beaches of Guardamar are a 10 minute drive away and those of the holiday town of Torrevieja are just 15 minutes away.
The town is a nice blend of old and new, and the La Marquesa Golf Course has led to increased development over the recent years. Good routes to both Alicante (El Altet) and Murcia (San Javier) airports via the nearby AP-7 Autopista Mediterraneo have also contributed to Rojales growth and popularity.
Rojales is a popular destination for nature lovers with the national park lagoons of Torrevieja and La Mata (also known as Torrelamata) just a few miles away. Another attraction are the cave dwellings at El Rodeo which are now inhabited by artists and crafts people based in Rojales. A regular craft market is held here. Just a few miles from the Rojales town centre is the Aqua Parc in Ciudad Quesada.
